Bedford Carp Construction Inc. is dedicated to providing a safe work environment for all of our employees, subcontractors and surrounding neighborhood on all of our projects. It is our goal to have every person who works on our job sites return home safe every night.
There are a variety of ways that we ensure that our employees and subcontractors work safe on a daily basis which include, but are not limited to:
Proper Training
All employees are required to read and sign an Employee Handbook which outlines various procedures and possible hazards on the job site. Most importantly, it educates them on how to avoid those hazards. Any new employee is put under the direct supervision of a seasoned employee to “show them the ropes.”
Safety Meetings
Mandatory safety meetings are held on a daily and weekly basis to drive home the importance of safe work practices while on the job site. Anything from working in adverse weather conditions to emergency procedures if someone should fall ill are covered.
Protective Equipment
All employees are issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which include, but is not limited to, hard hats, gloves, protective eyewear and reflective vests. It is mandatory that the proper PPE is worn on the job site at all times.
Direct Supervision
To further ensure a safe working environment, there is generally an owner supervising each crew. Each owner has many years of experience dealing with a variety of issues.
OSHATraining
All of our employees are required to have an OSHA 10 certification. Many have an OSHA 30 certification.
Safety Consultant
We employ a fully credential Safety Manager to ensure that all certifications are up to date and that all safety practices are adhered to.
